چکیده

MOODY, FRANK G. Oxygen consumphn during thiocyanate irhibition of gastric acid secretion in dog. Am. J, Physiol. 2 15( 1) : 127-131. 1968.-The relationship between oxygen c&sumption, blood flow, and acid secretion was studied in exteriorized gastric se gments of the dog during histamine and thiocyanate administration. Acid secretion and oxygen consumption demonstrated a highly significant linear correlation (r = .83) during histamine administration by a direct arterial route. The ratio of hydrogen ions produced to oxygen molecules consumed was 2.7. 2.hiocyanate inhibition of acid secretion did not change the high rate of respiration which accompanied histamine administration. Total blood flow aLso did not decrease; aminopyrine clearance was not a reliable index of mucosal blood flow during thiocyanate inhibition. The disassociation of respiration from acid secretion suggests that thiocyanate may inhibit acid secretion at some point beyond the transfer of energy to the process.

The Effects of Acute Consumption of Heroin on Basal and Vagal-Stimulated Gastric Acid and Pepsin Secretion in Rat

Background: Opioid peptides and their receptors are present in the majority of body tissues including gastrointestinal tract.  Heroin is one of the opioid derivatives that abuse increasingly today.  So far, there is no study on the effect of acute heroin administration on gastric acid and pepsin secretion. Objective:  To define the effect of the acute heroin consumption on basal and vagal-stimu...

Davenport and Fisher (1938) and Davenport (1939, 1940) have shown that there is a high concentration of carbonic anhydrase in the parietal cells and a lower concentration in the cells of the surface epithelium of the gastric mucosa of rats, cats and dogs. They expressed the belief that the enzyme is part of the mechanism which secretes hydrochloric acid. Davenport argued that carbon dioxide is ...

thyroid hoemones effect gastric acid and pepsin secretion.however exact machanism(s) are not clear.this study was performed to compare the effect of vagal stimulation on acid an pepsin secretion in hypothyroid, hyperthyroid and control rars.each group consisted of 8 male and female rats(N-mari) weighing 246+_9 gr.hypo and hyperthyroid states were induced by administretion of methimazol (50mg/l i...

Inhibition of gastric H+,K+-ATPase and acid secretion by SCH 28080, a substituted pyridyl(1,2a)imidazole.

A hydrophobic amine, SCH 28080, 2-methyl-8-(phenylmethoxy)imidazo(1,2a)pyridine-3-acetonitrile, previously shown to inhibit gastric acid secretion in vivo and in vitro, was also shown to inhibit basal and stimulated aminopyrine accumulation in isolated gastric glands when histamine, high K+ concentrations, or dibutyryl cAMP were used as secretagogues. Stimulated, but not basal, oxygen consumpti...

Corticotropin-releasing factor. Mechanisms to inhibit gastric acid secretion in conscious dogs.

Immunoreactivity similar to that of corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF) is found in regions of the central nervous system that modulate autonomic responses, including gastrointestinal functions. We examined the central nervous system effects of ovine CRF on gastric acid secretion in conscious dogs. Male beagle dogs (11-13 kg) were fitted with chronic intracerebroventricular cannulae and gastri...
